Errors Linked with NAT00020 File

Overview

The NAT00020 (Training Organisation Delivery Location) file is a mandatory AVETMISS file that records where training delivery actually occurred during the reporting period.

Validation errors in the NAT00020 file usually occur when delivery location details are missing, duplicated, or not correctly linked to enrolments or subjects in TEAMS.

What is the NAT00020 File?

The NAT00020 – Training Organisation Delivery Location file records every location where training delivery took place.

Each record represents a unique combination of:

  • Training Organisation Identifier
  • Training Organisation Delivery Location Identifier
Important: If a delivery location is referenced in the NAT00120 file, it must already exist in the NAT00020 file.
If it does not, your AVETMISS submission will fail validation.

Key Dependency – How TEAMS Uses Delivery Locations

Before fixing NAT00020 errors, it is important to understand how delivery locations are included in AVETMISS exports from TEAMS.

To be included in NAT00020, a delivery location must:

  • Be Active in TEAMS, and
  • Be assigned to an enrolment either:
    • At the enrolment level (applies to all subjects), or
    • At the subject level via the Subject AVETMISS tab

Common NAT00010 Validation Errors

Error 3802 – Duplicate Delivery Location Identifier

This error occurs when the Training Organisation Delivery Location Identifier has been recorded more than once for the same organisation.

While you may have multiple delivery locations in the same suburb or postcode, each delivery location identifier must be unique.

Resolution in TEAMS

  1. Navigate to Compliance → Training Organisation
  2. Review all delivery location records
  3. Identify any duplicate Delivery Location Identifiers
  4. Update the identifiers so each delivery location has a unique value
  5. Save your changes

Error 3830 – Delivery Location Identifier & Name Missing

This error occurs when both the Delivery Location Identifier and Delivery Location Name fields are blank.

These fields are mandatory and are required to correctly link delivery locations to training activity in AVETMISS.

Resolution in TEAMS

  1. Navigate to Compliance → Training Organisation
  2. Locate the affected delivery location record
  3. Enter a valid Delivery Location Identifier and Delivery Location Name
  4. Save your changes

After correcting any delivery location issues in TEAMS, you must re-export your AVETMISS files to ensure the changes are reflected. Always re-export and validate AVETMISS files after every correction. Do not reuse previously exported files, as they will not reflect your latest changes in TEAMS.
