Overview
The NAT00100 (Prior Educational Achievement) file records a student’s completed prior education, such as school level, certificates, diplomas, or higher education, completed in Australia or overseas.
A student may have multiple prior educational achievements, which means multiple NAT00100 records may exist for the same student, but only under specific AVETMISS rules.
NAT00100 Record Structure
Each NAT00100 record contains two mandatory fields:
- Client Identifier
- Prior Educational Achievement Identifier
Both fields must be populated and valid.
Common NAT00100 Validation Errors
Error 400 – Prior Educational Achievement Flag Not Set
This error occurs when a NAT00100 record exist, but the Prior Educational Achievement flag is not set to “Y” for the student in the NAT00080 file.
Resolution in TEAMS
• If the student has prior education to report:
Open the student record, set the Prior Educational Achievement flag to Y and Save your changes.
• If the student has no prior education:
Remove the NAT00100 record for that student
Error 3701 – Invalid or Missing Prior Educational Achievement Identifier
This error occurs when the Prior Educational Achievement Identifier is blank or contains an invalid value.
Resolution in TEAMS
- Open the student’s Prior Education section
- Select a valid Prior Educational Achievement from the dropdown list
- Save your changes
Re-exporting and Confirming Resolution
After correcting NAT00100 errors:
- Re-export your AVETMISS files from TEAMS
- Re-upload the files to your AVETMISS Validation Software (AVS)
- Confirm Errors 400 and 3701 no longer appear
Always re-export files after making changes, as previously exported files will not reflect updated data.
