Errors Linked with NAT00030 File

Overview

The NAT00030 (Program) file is a core AVETMISS file that records each program linked to training activity or completions during the reporting period. This file confirms that all reported programs are correctly recognised at a national level.

Validation errors in the NAT00030 file are submission-blocking and must be resolved before AVETMISS data can be accepted.

IMPORTANT RULE:
For every unique Program Identifier in NAT00030, there must be at least one corresponding record in:
• Training Activity (NAT00120), or
• Program Completed (NAT00130)
Only programs with activity or completions during the reporting period will appear in the NAT00030 file

Common NAT00030 Validation Errors

Error 4726 – Invalid Program Identifier

This error occurs when the Program Identifier is not recognised as a valid qualification, course, or skill set on training.gov.au.
It is commonly caused by incorrect, outdated, or superseded program codes.

Resolution in TEAMS
  • Confirm the correct program code on training.gov.au
  • In TEAMS, go to Academic → Programs
  • Locate the program and select Edit
  • Update the Program Descriptive Code to match the national register exactly
  • Save your changes

Error 4727 – Program Name Does Not Match

This error occurs when the Program Identifier exists, but the Program Name does not exactly match the official name on training.gov.au. Even minor differences such as spaces, punctuation, or wording will trigger this error.

Resolution in TEAMS
  • Confirm the official program name on training.gov.au
  • Open the program in Academic → Programs
  • Update the Program Descriptive Name to exactly match the national register
  • Pay close attention to spelling, spacing, and formatting
  • Save your changes

Always re-export AVETMISS files after making corrections, as previously exported files will not reflect updated program details.
