Overview
The NAT00060 (Subject) file contains a record for each unit of competency, accredited unit, or module linked to enrolment activity during the reporting period.
For every unique Subject Identifier reported in NAT00060, there must be at least one corresponding record in the Training Activity (NAT00120) file. NAT00060 defines the subject-level structure that feeds directly into enrolments and outcomes reported through AVETMISS.
Common NAT00060 Validation Error
Error 4722 – Subject Identifier Must Exist in Subject File
This error occurs when the Subject Identifier reported in AVETMISS does not match a recognised unit or module listed on training.gov.au.
It is commonly caused by:
- A missing or invalid Subject Descriptive Code, or
- A Subject Descriptive Name that does not exactly match the official national listing
Resolution in TEAMS
- Navigate to Academic → Subjects
- Open the affected subject record
- Review the following fields:
- Confirm the Subject Descriptive Code is current, valid, and entered correctly
- Ensure the Subject Descriptive Name exactly matches the wording on training.gov.au
- Verify the correct details by searching the unit or module on training.gov.au
- Save your changes
Always re-export AVETMISS files after making changes, as previously exported files will not reflect updated subject information.
