Overview
The NAT00085 (Client Contact Details) file records a student’s contact information for AVETMISS reporting purposes. This includes address details and at least one valid contact method.
NAT00085 must align exactly with NAT00080 (Client file). Any inconsistency between these two files will result in AVETMISS validation errors.
Key Dependency – NAT00085 and NAT00080
Before resolving NAT00085 errors, it is important to understand the dependency between the two files:
- NAT00085 records must link correctly to NAT00080
- Client Identifier and name details must match exactly
- Address data in NAT00085 is validated against NAT00080
- Overseas student indicators must be consistent across both files
Common NAT00085 Validation Issues
Error – Missing or Invalid Contact Method
At least one valid contact method must be provided for each student. Missing or invalid values in the phone, mobile, or email fields can trigger validation errors, depending on jurisdiction rules.
Resolution in TEAMS
- Open the Student Dashboard
- Edit the student’s Contact Details
- Ensure at least one valid Phone number, Mobile number, or Email address
- Save your changes
Error – Address Mismatch Between NAT00080 and NAT00085
Address details are repeated in NAT00085 for validation. If address fields do not align exactly with NAT00080, validation errors will occur
Resolution in TEAMS
- Open the student record
- Review address details in both:
- Client information (NAT00080), and
- Contact details (NAT00085)
- Ensure the address values are consistent
- Save your changes
Error – Overseas Student Data Inconsistency
If a student is flagged as an overseas student in NAT00080 (OSP status / State code = 99), NAT00085 must reflect the same logic. Any mismatch between the two files will result in validation failures.
Resolution in TEAMS
- Confirm the student’s overseas status in NAT00080
- Ensure corresponding contact and address details in NAT00085 align with this status
- Save your changes
Ensuring NAT00085 aligns exactly with NAT00080 will resolve these errors and support compliant AVETMISS reporting.
All data fixes must be completed in TEAMS before re-exporting AVETMISS files.
