Overview
The NAT00090 (Disability) file records information about students who have declared a disability for AVETMISS reporting purposes.
NAT00090 is generated only when a student’s Disability flag is set to “Yes” in the NAT00080 (Client) file. If disability details are incomplete or invalid, AVETMISS validation errors will occur.
IMPORTANT:
• If the Disability flag is set to Yes, at least one valid Disability Type Identifier must be recorded.
• If the Disability flag is set to No, no NAT00090 record should exist for that student.
• The Client Identifier in NAT00090 must exactly match an existing record in NAT00080.
• Disability Type Identifiers must use valid AVETMISS codes.
Common NAT00090 Validation Error
Error – Invalid or Missing Disability Type Identifier
This error occurs when the Disability Type Identifier is blank or contains an invalid value.
It most commonly occurs when:
- Disability information is incomplete during manual data entry
- Enrolments are imported with the Disability flag set to Yes, but
- The detailed disability type (e.g. physical, learning, medical condition) is not selected
In this scenario, TEAMS exports a NAT00090 record with a blank or invalid Disability Type Identifier, triggering a validation error.
Resolution in TEAMS
- Search for and open the Student Dashboard
- Edit the student’s Compliance / AVETMISS Information
- Ensure the Disability flag is correctly set
- Select the appropriate Disability Type from the available options
- Save your changes
Once saved, TEAMS will automatically align NAT00080 and NAT00090, and the validation error will be resolved.
Re-exporting and Confirming Resolution
After correcting disability details:
- Re-export your AVETMISS files from TEAMS
- Re-upload the files to your AVETMISS Validation Software (AVS)
- Confirm the NAT00090 validation error no longer appears
All data fixes must be completed in TEAMS before re-exporting AVETMISS files.
